Musically – I thought the set was extremely well executed, and the song choice was really great.
#PIERCE THE VEIL CONCERT IN INDIANAPOLIS IN HOW TO#
I’m not sure how to explain it or what exactly it was, but it looked very industrial, and had moving gears and things flying everywhere, and definitely added an element to the show. Quick mention of their set construction- it was intense…. Super impressive performance by that dude. Not only did he sound really good, but the band is a 4 piece and he plays rhythm guitar as well. In addtion to that, Vic absolutely crushed the vocals. Their set featured both of those things – a great set of song choices really showed the bands range and allowed them to show off their hard metal side without ostracizing the All Time Low crowd that was there. Pierce the Veil stands out for two reasons: First – they write interesting songs that have multiple levels of interesting elements. There are so many bands in the post-hardcore genre, its completely saturated with breakdowns that are too thick and screaming that makes the ears bleed. In my opinion, in this genre, it’s really hard to separate yourself from the noise. So, that being said….here are some notes from the two awesome sets. I started listening to them right after college when I was living in LA and driving around the coast of California with absolutely no responsibilities and lots of spending money, and ever since I have been a total fan boy (even though I’m a decade older than the band and 2 decades older than their fans). Most pop-rock music like theirs makes me cringe…but something about this band has me totally hooked.

This is the first chance I had gotten to see them live, and my anticipation was incredible.Īll Time Low, on the other hand, I have been listening to for years. Admittedly, I have only been a Pierce the Veil fan since their last album (thanks to JaWarnerBro and Tony Cal for the introduction), but ever since then I’ve been listening to them nonstop. They were an absolutely perfect choice as an opening band for this show. I like all their music, and while it’s hard to suppress the disappointment that Oliver Sykes isn’t on stage for the screams during Bite My Tongue, You Me at Six’s show is always high energy, well executed, and very entertaining.

This is the second time that I’ve seen them, and they put on a great show. The opening show, You Me at Six, was fantastic. AND – she even said she had a good time! 🙂 I digress….on to the music. Music Pill came to a show with me to see what all the fuss was about. As a gift to me, and on our anniversary no less, Mrs. Let me start off by saying that when I say “we” were in Chicago for this show, for the first time ever I mean my wife and I. So, on a rainy Saturday in early May, we found ourselves in a Chicago suburb at a hotel sipping on some Vodka Tonics, getting ready for an incredible show. These three together, on one bill, had me salivating from the get go, and I just couldn’t let the thought of going out of my head. All Time Low is a guilty pleasure of mine that I started listening to when I lived in California in 2007, and You Me at Six completely blew me away with their Sinners Never Sleep album in 2011. Pierce the Veil is a band that I have recently fallen in love with. I spotted this tour on a blog I read and the lineup was huge.

The good thing about it is….usually, it takes a fantastic show to make me travel. I spend weeks looking for a concert that I can go to, and finally, I convince myself to take a long trip to catch a show. It happens every winter – when the festivals are quiet, the smaller tours don’t get Indianapolis dates, and I’ve been cooped up inside for too long. This is a classic example of what I like to call “Concert Withdrawal”.
